Dating in Mexico is not an easy task. With the difference in their culture and yours, you will definitely need to learn and understand their culture for you to be able to hit it up with Mexican women.
While some countries are more liberated, Mexico, as a largely Catholic nation, is more reserved and submissive. This is sometimes the cause for misunderstanding and miscommunication between foreign men and Mexican women. After all, courtship in Mexico is not as tolerant as it is in the US.
In a date, it is not uncommon for you to be asking your date certain questions. Questions that will pave the way for you to get to know each other better and, hopefully, pave the way for marriage. Before asking any kind of question though, you will need to consider the difference in your culture and be sensitive to topics that might be offensive in their culture.
Here are some questions that you can ask your Mexican date:
When you date Mexican women, it is a common courtesy to ask how her day was. This allows you to gauge her mood and take the necessary steps to keep her interested. This will also show her that you are concerned about her well-being.
Be direct. Asking her this question will let you know if she is only in it for fun or whether she is looking for something more serious. If she is not looking for something serious, then that is your cue to move on and find someone better after your date.
Again, be direct. It is better to know what she is looking for in a man to give you an idea if you are the one. If not, you can always change yourself for the better and mold yourself to fit her idea of the perfect man, or at least try to be.
While this is a bit personal, it is not personal to the point where it becomes offensive. Asking her this will let you know if dating in Mexico with her will be worth it. Let’s face it, you are here for one reason, and that is for marriage. There is no use wasting your time and effort on someone who is not ready for marriage anyway.
Ask her for her favorite color, music, movie, or anything under the sun. This will give you an idea of what her personality is like. Knowing a person’s favorites will enable you to know her better.
While there are appropriate questions to ask, there are also inappropriate questions that you need to stay away from. These questions will most likely result in a failed date. Do remember that because of the difference in your culture, what seems harmless to you can be offensive to her. Some things are just not in the Mexican dating norms and you should steer away from them.
Here are some questions that you should not ask Mexican singles:
Let’s face it, no two people have the exact same points of view. Asking about something as broad and sensitive as politics will only lead to an argument should you have opposing points of views. Do not spend your time dating in Mexico arguing about politics; rather, focus on each other.
While it is ok to ask what her religion is (this may be a good question to ask so that you can avoid topics that may be offensive to her religion), it will still eventually lead to opposing views as politics. As much as possible, stay away from questions that involve religion.
When it comes to money, Mexican women are rather private. For them, if you are in love with someone, it wouldn’t matter how much money he/she is making. All that matters is that you are together.
While this may seem harmless to you, this can be seen as offensive to women in Mexico. Yes, they do have a tightly knit family system where most are living with their parents and extended families, but asking something as personal as this may make them think that you are insulting her for still living with her parents despite her age. Remember, her culture is not the same as yours.
Well, let’s just say she didn’t. So what? Asking her about college will make her think you are looking down at her, underestimating her educational attainment. If you want to spend the rest of your life with someone, it doesn’t really matter if she finished college or not. There are thousands of other things you can ask her.
If you want to experience dating in Mexico, the first thing you need to understand is their culture. Doing so will allow you to avoid situations where your relationship with a Mexican girl will be compromised. The most important thing that you need to remember when dating someone with a different dating culture is to be sensitive and be selfless.
